Candidate Bio: Please share a little bit about yourself:
I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. I went to Solomon Schecter Day School until the 8th grade and Akiba Hebrew Academy for highschool.In my junior year of highschool, i spent 5 months in Israel on the Alexander Muss program, and I have just spent my Freshman year of college in Israel on a program called Kivunim:New Directions. I have recently join the Israel advocacy club on campus however small it may be. I have not been incredibly involved thus far with Hillel, but i am really interested and am finally adjusing to being back into living in America and being on an American college campus. Israel is my second home and I want it to be so much a part of what we experience on campus.
What do you hope to achieve in this position? Please share some specific ideas.:
As Israel chair, I hope to incorporate Israel, israeli culture, and Israeli media into our Jewish life on campus.
What experiences and qualifications do you have for this position?:
I am deeply connected and rooted in Israel. I have a strong connection to the Jewish community n Philadekphia. I am fluent in Hebrew, and have 14 years of Jewish education under my belt.
What other responsibilities do you have and how much time can you allot to Hillel/JSA responsibilities?:
I am currently taking 5 courses at drexel (this term) and I am a part of the Maimonideis Meor Program on campus. I have school work, but I do believe that I have time to spend with Hillel because it is really something that i care about
Anything else you would like people to know about you?:
It has been a really difficult adjustment to be back in America, but Israel is something that I am really passionate about and i think that this will be something that i could put my heart into and become a real part of Jewish life on campus
What is your favorite thing about Hillel?:
I love that Hillel helps you meet other Jews on Campus and facilitates relations through it's events
