Candidate Bio: Please share a little bit about yourself:
I am a freshman at Drexel University and in Business Administration. I have been inspired to major in Business for a long time because of my father; he is a business consultant and has shown me how to do wonderful things for people through the business world. I was further intrigued and captivated by the business world through my first job. I got my first job at a café when I was 14 and have grown as a person, a student, and a businesswoman since. I had to develop things such as people and money managing skills. I know that I will be an amazing treasurer due to my passion and dedication to business and money managing.
What do you hope to achieve in this position? Please share some specific ideas.:
As treasurer, I will succeed in doing all of the tasks assigned to me and more. I hope to raise more funds for tzedaka and for Hillel events. With extra funds, chairs will be able to plan more events.
What experiences and qualifications do you have for this position?:
As stated in my bio, I have had a job since I was 14 and in this time I have handled a lot of money transactions. In my experience as an employee, I have acquired many money-managing skills such as being able to plan and carry out a budget. In high school I was also on the board for H2O for Life, a community service organization. While on this board, I helped to plan and execute an annual budget and raise $10,000 to send a water purification system to a village in Mali.
What other responsibilities do you have and how much time can you allot to Hillel/JSA responsibilities?:
I am involved in few other organizations at Drexel, these include the LEboq Dean's Student Advisory Board, Phi Chi Theta, and ABY. I will be able to allot most of my time to Hillel and will work as hard as I can to accomplish all of my goals as treasurer.
Anything else you would like people to know about you?:
I am excited to be running for treasurer.
What is your favorite thing about Hillel?:
I love the bond that it gives to Jewish undergraduate students and the influence it gives to students to embrace Judaism.
