Drexel Hillel

Aviva Isenberg

Name: Aviva Isenberg
Year: 3rd year Junior
Position Desired: Vice-President
Candidate Bio: Please share a little bit about yourself:

I'm a graphic design major here at Drexel, and I aspire to be a book designer.
Before starting Drexel, I spent a year in Israel studying at Hebrew University and working on a Kibbutz. I have a strong connection to Judaism and Israel.
I love caramel more than I love most people.

What do you hope to achieve in this position? Please share some specific ideas.:
As Vice President, not only do I vow to help keep the president sane, but I also want to help the chairs facilitate events. I want to minimalize cancelled events due to lack of planning or lack of communication. I want to make sure we have as many events as possible, because that is the purpose of the Jewish Student Association.

What experiences and qualifications do you have for this position?:
I am finishing up my second year as the JSA's Shabbat Chair. I was the first student to hold this position, so I feel that I had to figure out everything from the ground up, which I was able to do. Other than Shabbat, I know what it takes to plan an event and make sure it is successful. Due to being on board for two consecutive years, I feel I know what the JSA's current needs are.

What other responsibilities do you have and how much time can you allot to Hillel/JSA responsibilities?:
In the beginning of my term as VP, I will be on co-op part-time, here in the Philadelphia area. Other than co-op and family, JSA will be a priority.
I'll be back in class in the fall, and during that time JSA will come directly after classwork.

Anything else you would like people to know about you?:
Knock on wood, I've never broken any bones.

Also, I have a website!
www.avivai.com

What is your favorite thing about Hillel?:
Shabbat, obviously!

Are you the candidate listed above?: Yes
Have you read the candidate contract?: Yes
