Shabbat Dinner:
The Drexel Jewish community comes together every other week for a Kosher Shabbat dinner. Students often come up with unique themes for dinner while still enjoying the traditional spirit of Shabbat. While some student scome to both services and meals, others may attend only services, or just come to enjoy a home-style dinner with friends. Shabbat dinner costs $5.00 and can be paid in advance in Hillel or online at www.drexelhillel.org.
Shabbat Services:
Student-led services precede our Shabbat dinners. While both Egalitarian Conservative and Reform are available, the students often choose to come together as one community and pray together.
Havdallah:
Once a term students gather to celebrate Havdallah and enjoy each others company as Shabbat comes to an end. Often students will go out for an organized activity or stay on campus and relax together. Havdallah supplies are available in Hillel for any students who wish to borrow them and complete their own Havdallah ceremony.
Shabbat Card:

Beginning with Fall 2009 Term, students may now purchase Shabbat Cards. Shabbat Cards allow students to attend any campus Shabbat dinner with out payment or RSVP. To purchase a Shabbat Card please click HERE.
Shabbat Programs:
Often students may attend after dinner speakers or programs or Saturday lunch and learns. Please visit our online calendar to see available programs.
Shabbat in a Box:
Once a term students can sign up for a Shabbat in the Box. Hillel will provide your Shabbat dinner with candles, grape juice, and shabbat books. |
